Until I read the instructions, I kept playing this game wrong. I thought the object was to avoid the enemy shooting you and also avoid them when your tank bounces around after getting shot. However, your tank is indestructible. The main goal is actually to get struck by the aircraft's missiles and then bounce into the air and knock the bad guys out of the sky. You have to knock enough out of the sky to make it to the next experience level. Combos gain you more experience. You upgrade the fleet of enemies at each level, making for more frequent helicopters as they fly by. Play Indestructo Tank 2 at Reflexive Arcade. Keep in mind, your tank is indestructible. This seems so counter-intuitive for most video games. But once you quickly get used to it, the constant explosions become quite fun.
I caught a commercial for Trunk Monkey over this weekend at my brother's house. This is a riot. It was important to post a quick link to this video as soon as possible.
Oh, and Happy Mother's Day to all moms. We appreciate you.
This image struck me as funny.
I stopped on my way to my Japanese lesson tonight to pick up a red pen (for correcting all my MISTAKES).
And in the carpark, I happened to see THIS BEAST.
I've seen plenty of random vehicles in my time here (they favour customization... especially flashy lights)... but this was in another league entirely!!
When I came out the store they were pulling away and it was SO slow and juddery. I just hope they don't meet any speedbumps in it...
Yes, there are many many vehicles like this in Japan - especially in the new town where I'm living. There's a guy that's got a huge hello kitty sprayed on the side of his - but sadly I never seem to have my camera when I spot it.
Gotta love those Japanese.
Something about the idea of using biofuels --fuels derived from corn-- has always bugged me just a little bit. Sure, there are benefits to the environment and it lessens our reliance on fossil fuels and the middle east and it could be cheaper per gallon. But something about putting the juice from vegetables in my car rather than good old-fashioned traditional petroleum just does seems a little panzy-ish. Still, I was willing to do it, but now I'm not so sure. I've recently become aware of a real reason that it might not be a good idea globally.
The irony is extraordinary. At a time when world leaders are expressing grave concern about diminishing food stocks and a coming global food crisis, our government brings into force measures to increase the use of biofuels - a policy that will further increase food prices, and further worsen the plight of the world's poor.
Like Steven Tyler of Aerosmith once said, "Eat The Rich!" It's just unfortunate that the "rich" in this case turned out to be us.
